New 3G Pitch and MUGA to open in Princes Risborough to boost sport

A state-of-the-art 3G pitch and multi-use games area (MUGA) has been approved at Princes Risborough School thanks to investment from the Premier League, The FA and Government’s Football Foundation.

Princes Risborough School, part of Insignis Academy Trust is proud to announce that formal approval has been granted for the development of a brand-new, floodlit 3G artificial turf pitch and a modern Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA).

This landmark project represents a significant investment in the physical health, well-being, and sporting excellence of both students and the wider local community, in particular supporting Grassroots football. The investment of these facilities on a school site reflects the improvements being made across the school with student outcomes, quality of teaching and learning and becoming the school of choice for the local area.

The project has also been supported by additional financial investment from Bucks local authority and Insignis Academy Trust.

Garret Fay, Chief Executive Officer of the Insignis Academy Trust, said:

"We are absolutely thrilled to receive the green light for this project. Our goal is to provide our students with the very best opportunities to succeed and to provide the community of Princes Risborough with the best community facilities. The new facilities will be a game-changer for the PE department and our sports teams and local clubs. We are very proud to become a central hub for community sport in Princes Risborough.”

Robert Sullivan, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation, said:

“The Football Foundation is working closely with our partners – the Premier League, The FA and Government – to transform the quality of grassroots facilities in England by delivering projects like this across the country.

“Good quality playing facilities have a transformative impact on physical and mental health and play an important role in bringing people together and strengthening local communities.

“We’re delighted that the local community in Princes Risborough will now be able to enjoy all these benefits thanks to the new facilities.”

Alan Baldwin, Chairman of the Risborough Rangers Football Club, said:

“As a partner organisation we are absolutely delighted to see this exciting project becoming a reality for the town. Risborough Rangers FC has 500 players of all ages, boys and girls, men and, very soon, women. We are also extremely proud of our pan-disability team too. This new 3G pitch will allow so much football fun, for all, as well as help players and coaches develop their talents further. Great news!”
