Annual Staff Conference: Investing in Wellbeing and Belonging

Insignis Academy Trust Annual Staff Conference: Investing in Wellbeing and Belonging

On Thursday 4th September 2026, Sir William Ramsay School proudly hosted the annual Insignis Academy Trust Staff Conference. The landmark event brought together all 700 staff members from across our six schools for a dedicated day of connection, professional growth, and personal wellbeing.

Inspiring Keynotes The morning kicked off with powerful presentations centered on our core values and the importance of community. Our CEO, Garret Fay, opened the floor with an inspiring address on "Making Belonging Matter," setting a unified and supportive tone for the day. We were also privileged to welcome a fantastic lineup of guest speakers:

  • Carl Moreton from My Future Self Matters
  • Andy Bethune from Well Schools
  • Tracey Campbell, who delivered a highly engaging session titled "Behaviour and the Daily Decisions that Make the Difference."

A Focus on Wellbeing and Work-Life Balance Following the keynotes, the agenda shifted entirely to staff wellbeing. Recognising the incredible dedication our teams show every day, the Trust curated a diverse program of activities and workshops empowering staff to prioritize their physical and mental health, as well as their work-life balance.

Staff had the freedom to build their own schedules from a vibrant mix of recreational and creative activities, which included Pickleball, Salsa dancing, Yoga, Choir, and immersive ukulele and drumming workshops.

Alongside the active sessions, we offered a host of practical workshops designed to build sustainable careers and streamline daily workloads. Options included:

  • Personal Development: Assertive self-leadership, navigating the menopause, and building healthy habits for sustainable careers.
  • Student Insight: Understanding the teenage brain.
  • EdTech & Efficiency: AI training in the classroom, understanding how to use Kami, and utilizing Gemini to conquer school administration.

Coming Together as a Trust To ensure energy remained high throughout the day, staff were fully catered for from breakfast through to lunch. With continuous teas and coffees and a highly popular fresh juice bar, the communal areas were buzzing with cross-school networking, collaboration, and shared experiences.

This conference was more than just an inset day; it was a vital investment in our people. By dedicating this time and offering these tailored workshops, Insignis Academy Trust continues to champion the wellbeing of the educators and support staff who make our schools exceptional.

A massive thank you to our host venue, our speakers, our workshop facilitators, and every member of staff who brought their energy and enthusiasm to make the day a resounding success!
