Purchasing Your Child’s Chromebook Outright

To support our commitment to digital learning, we have partnered with edde for Education to provide a simple pathway for parents to purchase a high-specification Chromebook for their child.

While many families choose our monthly donation schemes, purchasing the device outright is a popular option for those who prefer to own the technology from day one without ongoing payments.

The Device: Lenovo 500e Yoga Chromebook (Gen 4)

We have selected a ruggedized, versatile device specifically designed to withstand the rigors of a school environment.

  • 2-in-1 Design: Features a 360° hinge, allowing it to be used as a traditional laptop or a tablet.

  • Durability: Built to military-grade specifications with reinforced ports and hinges.

  • Touchscreen: 11.6-inch HD multi-touch display with "pencil-touch" technology.

  • Battery Life: Designed to last the full school day on a single charge.

Pricing & Protection Options

When purchasing outright through edde, you can choose between the base hardware or a fully protected bundle. We strongly recommend the protected bundle to ensure your child isn't without a device in the event of accidental damage.

Option What’s Included? Total Cost
Hardware Only Chromebook, Protective Case & License £TBC
Protected Bundle Chromebook, Protective Case & License, 3 Years Warranty & Insurance £TBC

Note: The "Google Classroom Management License" is a mandatory requirement. It allows the school to push out educational apps, manage security settings, and ensure the device remains a safe tool for learning.

How to Place Your Order

The school does not handle the financial transactions for these devices. To purchase your Chromebook, please contact the specialists at edde directly. They will guide you through the payment process and ensure the device is correctly registered to our school network.

When contacting them, please state:

  1. Your child’s full name and Year Group.

  2. The name of your child's school.

  3. That you wish to make an "Outright Purchase" for a Chromebook.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy through the school scheme rather than a high-street retailer?

Retail models often lack the "ruggedised" build quality required for school use. Furthermore, devices bought elsewhere will not include the mandatory management license, meaning they cannot be used on the school’s secure network.

What does the insurance cover?

The optional 3-year insurance covers accidental damage (such as cracked screens or liquid spills) and theft. There is the option to choose insurance with or without excess through the edde scheme.

When will the device be delivered?

Once payment is confirmed, edde will coordinate with the school's IT department to have the device configured and ready for your child to collect from the school office.
